My favourite snacks

Guess what it is? It looks like mochi? Actually it's some fishcake with cheese filling inside! I like to stir fry it to golden color!!! Sometimes u can get the plain fishcake for hotpot/sukiyaki, the texture is very funny and it'll expand like a floating bed in the middle of the pot! U might sometimes find this "floating bed" in "oden" too!

OMG! I miss Japan very much...too much...i cant wait to go there!!! What should i eat first nite getting there (which is gonna be 2 months later :P)?!?!

Michelin 1 Star Dim Sum Place!

Finally made it!!! So much wanna go try this place out but there is always long queue outside waiting! Last nite (a weeknite) my auntie took me there for dinner (yes, normally dim sum is for brunch/lunch) and it's really really impressive!!! Feeling very lite (usually dim sum are oily) and you can tell the dim sum chef has been putting a lot of love and effort to the food (no wonder the place has got 1 star michelin!)!!! The former dim sum chef from 4 Seasons Hotel, bringing all this joy and happiness to general public (for he is charging a very reasonable price).

What a nice hotpot place!

An eating buddy has taken me to a hotpot on Sat. This place doesn't have nice decor but food is very special, esp the snacks! Snacks are specially designed for people who are super hungry and can't wait the soup to be boiled!!! The one above is baked foie gras sitting on top of a big rock oyster. Super impressive indeed! Apart from this, the soup base used for hotpot is also very impressive as they put really many ingredients, for example, I could find many thousand years eggs when i tried to "google" inside the pot!
Another surprise this place has given me is, they have very nice WESTERN dessert! I hv ordered a chocolate souffle which is as good as the one serving at hotel!!! Creme Brulee also very smooth!

Udon

There is this nice udon place at Element which has some prime quality udon from Japan. But what I really favour is not the udon...it's their lunch set!!! Esp the sea-eel rice as shown in foto below! Something like this only cost like $135 (plus 10) which is quite a good deal! Am alreadymissing it already...!!!

Authetic ramen: 豚王拉麵 BUTAO

Never really like to eat ramen before until i have tried 豚王拉麵 (BUTAO)!!! It has this authetic taste which i used to have at Ichinan in Tokyo (the only place I'll have ramen)! 豚王拉麵 locates in a little alley inside Lang Kwai Fong (i like this kinda hidden secret setting), it reminds me of those eatting outlets at Ropponggi in Tokyo, where people like to have supper after clubbing!! There are 4 soup base and RED (chilli soup base) is my favourite! There is always a long queue outside waiting (which is also a Japanese culture), with limited supply everyday, so it's really depends on your luck if u can have a bowl of ramen!!!

* pls note the opening hours!!!

* Thank you for bringing the authetic ramen to Hong Kong!!!

* I tried GREEN yesterday, which is a pesto soup base with some cheese melted on top! it's a fusion style, a bit like pasta. Very interesting!!! I wanna try the BLACK next time, which is cuttlefish sauce!!! Looking forward to the next visit!!!

豚王拉麵: G/F, 11-12 Wo On Lane, Central. (852) 2530-0600
